Maria Pinińska-Bereś
Drawings 15.11–13.12.2013
Maria Pinińska-Bereś (1931-1999) is famous for her sculptures and performances. Drawings appeared en passant on the margins of her existential, feminist art. Dozens of small sketches have been preserved, mainly studies of sculptural forms, performance scripts, and over a dozen drawings documenting dreams. For Pinińska – regardless which medium she had used – her attention to form was always valued above the content accompanying it. It is no different with the drawings, which are characterized by a great plasticity, even when they are just the note of an idea. These works were never shown before. The exhibition is curated by Ewa Tatar, display by Katarzyna Przezwańska.
