Lukas Müller, born in 1986, lives and works in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. In passing, Müller detaches his collected pieces from their location. He picks them up from the street, strips them from their urban functional relation, transforms them with minimal interventions: cuts, deforms, attaches, spray paints, rearranges, and puts them into a new context where they exist thrown back into themselves. His objects are naked; they seem to repel any further signification. Lukas Müller’s acts of collecting, picking-up, carrying away, ensue an awareness that is aimed at the marginalized. These works preserve their singularity and disrupt “The Way Things Go”.

Krzysztof Mężyk, born in 1984, lives and works in Kraków, Poland. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. He often describes his artistic practice with the word ‘qualia’ – a term which denotes subjective, ineffable sensual perceptions experienced by a person. In his technique he employs a palette of warm colors. He’s placing structures of flat forms onto open composition backgrounds, always executing it with bold and dynamic brushwork. Mężyk’s works are abstract, sensual and focus on the matter itself, but despite the impression of pure expressionism and the main interest in the painterly gesture, his trademark is always this precise and deliberate structure.
